MVHS Announcements for October 18, 2019

  • Sources of Strength "Postive Friend Challenge” for today is to, take a picture in MVHS school spirit gear and Direct Message  it to @MVHS_SOS with your name and grade level. The class with the most participants will receive a prize!
  • Mountain View Seniors! ~ Jostens will be back Today to take your senior cap and gown/announcement and jewelry orders.  They will be here during lunch both days on the stage in the cafeteria.  If you missed the meeting on October 3rd, please come to the front office to get the information packet.
  • A reminder that DECA members Packets and dues for DECA need to be submitted by TODAY the 18th.
  • Peak Performance Awards Ceremony Invitations have been delivered. If you believe you have earned an invitation but did not receive one, please see Ms Barton in Indian Peaks Center.
  • The Thompson Valley School District ladies's lacrosse team is looking for more players! The team is readily anticipating both a Varsity and JV team, and this is the year to try a new sport! If you are interested, want to borrow equipment, or have questions you want answered, stop by and say hello to Ms. Caldwell in E204. The team is meeting once a week for preseason conditioning right now, so this is a perfect opportunity to get together with friends and try something new!
  • A few college reminder dates to share:  There will be an  admissions representative from Wyoming Tech in Laramie, they
    will be in the Library Conference Room Today at 11:45 am. 
  • College Application Day will be next Thursday, October 24th! There will be tons of colleges visiting Mountain View that day in the media center so please come by grab some college shwag and to learn more about some of the amazing options for after high school! Thursday is also College Spirit Day so come dressed in your favorite college spirit gear."
  • The ASVAB is being offered on Wednesday 10/23 starting at 8:00am. This is a required career exploration exam for seniors wanting to enlist in the military. It is also open for students who are not interested in the military but are looking for an additional career exploration opportunity. Sign up in Indian Peaks!
  • It is not too late to join the tech team for the musical. Find a poster in the hallway, or see Mr. Jacob or Mrs. Perron for more information. Interest Surveys are due today, October 18th.
  • Any students wanting food for the weekend, please stop by to get a bag of food in the health office.

  • Sources of Strength has the following activities this week….Thursday: This week Sources of Strength is doing a competition to see which grade level has the strongest positive friends. Today, your challenge is to take a picture with a friend you consider a part of your “chosen” family and DM it to @MVHS_SOS Instagram with your name and grade level. MVHS Announcements for October 14, 2019

  • Congratulations to the MVHS Speech and Debate Team for their successful season opener in Erie last weekend. Congratulations to Braeden Bomgaars and Micah Floyd for getting 1st and 2nd place in Extemporaneous Speaking. If you are interested in joining the team, they meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after school in Room F129.

  • Tomorrow is our ICAP Day.  ICAP is an Individual Career & Academic Plan and is a graduation requirement for each student to complete.  We will have a variety of sessions covering academics, careers, and college that each grade level will attend in addition to two fantastic guest speakers.  We aligned this with Free Application day for seniors and will be providing support within the session rotations for application help. Remember! Attendance is mandatory. Please check the student lists located at the front office or centers to see where you start your day! We will See you Tomorrow!!
  • If you are taking the PSAT on Wednesday morning you need to be at school at 7:45am, testing will begin promptly at 8:00am in the Small Gym.

  • ICAP Day is Tuesday, October 15th! All students will be attending a variety of fun and informative learning sessions AND you will have the
  • opportunity to apply to ALL Colorado Colleges for FREE that day! Most college applications are $50.00 or more, so this is a great opportunity you do NOT want to miss out on! There will be a session during ICAP Day for you to complete those Colorado applications so start thinking about where you would like to apply! On that note, our regular College Application Day will be Thursday, October 24th! There will be tons of colleges visiting Mountain View that day in the library so please come by for tons of awesome giveaways and to learn more about some of the amazing colleges you can attend. To save yourself some time, it would be helpful to come to College App Day with a COMPLETED FAFSA. There will also be a session on ICAP Day to learn about how to complete those so don’t worry, we are here to help.
