Face Mask and Safety Information for the New School Year

Dear Thompson Community:

We hope the first few weeks of summer have been great for you! Our TSD summer school program has been very successful overall and district staff are also hard at work putting plans in place for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.  Although we are still several weeks away from the return of students to campuses, we wanted to reach out today to provide you with an update on what you can expect to experience on the first days of school and beyond.

School Schedule

As a reminder, Thompson School District will be offering full in-person Monday through Friday instruction at our schools for the 2021-2022 school year. Families who prefer a virtual educational option for their student this upcoming year were able to register this spring for a slot in the district's Thompson Connect Online program.  To view the district’s school calendar, please click here.

Face Masks and Safety Precautions

Throughout the summer season, TSD staff have continued to partner with officials at the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment to help coordinate the safety precautions that will be in place throughout district buildings.  Here is what has been determined so far:

Face Masks - Per the latest public health orders, face masks will not be required for any staff members or students attending TSD schools. Students and staff are encouraged to continue to wear one if they prefer.

Social Distancing - There are no current public health orders regarding social distancing.  TSD will continue to maximize space as much as possible in school buildings.

COVID-19 Vaccines - We encourage students and staff to get vaccinated and will continue to provide opportunities to do so.

Final guidance from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment and the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment will be published later this month.  These details will further define the guidance as we start the school year.

Please note that while we feel very confident that these plans will not be adjusted, there is always the possibility that changes will need to be made based on additional direction from county and state officials.  More information will be forthcoming as we get closer to the first day of classes.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 970-613-5000.

Thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!
