TSD Names Shannon Clarke as Director of Curriculum and Learning Design
Thompson School District has named Shannon Clarke as Director of Curriculum and Learning Design, effective July 1. In the role, Ms. Clarke will facilitate the development and implementation of pre-12 curriculum, instructional pedagogy and related education option programs. She will also coordinate and direct district work in the development, implementation, and assessment of programs, services, and instructional strategies that promote student achievement.
Since 2012, Ms. Clarke has served as the principal of Mountain Ridge Middle School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. Her career also includes experience as a district assessment coordinator, curriculum director, gifted and talented coordinator, instructional coach and English teacher.
“I am so excited to join Thompson School District as the Director of Curriculum and Learning Design,” Ms. Clarke said. “Thompson is where my career began as a student teacher at Loveland High School in the spring of 1996. TSD is doing amazing work to offer opportunities for students to learn and apply their learning in many different ways and I can’t wait to learn more about these experiences. I am especially excited about the community feel of the district and the obvious passion and care that is evident for students and staff.”
Ms. Clarke earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Colorado State University as well as a Master of Arts in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado.
