TSD Names Tracy Stegall as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning

Thompson School District is pleased to announce that it has named Tracy Stegall as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, effective July 1. In the position, Ms. Stegall will provide leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s Early Childhood – 12thgrade curriculum and instructional services, educational programs and federal programs and grants.  In addition, she will coordinate services to staff that enable them to meet the learning needs of students in order to ensure the success of the Thompson Strategic Plan.

Ms. Stegall is currently serving as the principal of Aspen Creek PK-8 School in the Boulder Valley School District.  Her career also includes work as a co-director for the Denver Writing Project and as an assistant principal for Boulder Valley Schools. She also currently serves as an affiliate faculty member for Regis University.  She began her career in education in 1991 as a middle school Language Arts teacher in Thompson School District at Walt Clark Middle School.

"I'm thrilled to be returning to Thompson School District where my passion for highly engaged student learning began,” Ms. Stegall said.  “Over the course of my administrative career, I have focused my attention on the impact that excellent and well-aligned instruction can have on student success.  Every principal and teacher here in Thompson is dedicated and committed to strong teaching and learning.  Through collaboration, we will ensure increased growth and achievement for each student!"

Ms. Stegall earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.  She also holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado at Denver.
