Thompson Education Foundation is profoundly grateful for our local community who has stepped forward with us to assist students during an unprecedented and challenging time in public education. As the nonprofit partner for Thompson School District, TEF helped funnel emergency COVID-19 support from the community directly to students in TSD last spring through home reading materials and school supplies, internet access and homeless assistance.

The strength of our organization has guaranteed that even in the midst of emergency response, TEF can continue its mission to offer exceptional educational experiences for students and educators in TSD. Annual programs to provide classroom grants, award scholarships, support arts and music in classrooms, and stuff supply-filled backpacks for the start of school continue into the 2020-2021 school year along with the foundation’s other regular programs.

--Field trips for 2nd and 4th grade students to deepen and enhance curriculum taught in the classroom.

--The Help Kids Succeed school supply program provides 1,500+ economically vulnerable TSD students with tools for success in the classroom each year.

--Support to help over 800 students annually identified as homeless overcome barriers that keep them out of school.

--Classroom grants for teachers to implement innovative learning experiences for students – over a quarter million dollars in classroom grant support since 1999!

--TEF provides financial support to enhance music and art programs in each TSD school.

--Since 2015, TEF has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to help with postsecondary education costs.

--All TSD educators and staff are celebrated at the annual Educator Appreciation event and the Educators of the Year are announced.

While district support continues, TEF’s fundraising activities will adjust to navigate the COVID-19 world. There will be additional focus for innovative online fundraising opportunities and traditional scheduled activities will shift.

The Loveland Classic, typically held each spring, was postponed from April to Labor Day weekend. On September 5, we are planning to hold an outdoor in-person 5K/10K that will utilize all the existing distancing and safety guidelines from the county. More information can be found at

In October, TEF and several of TSD’s elementary schools will have Major Saver discount cards for sale. These local-focused dining and entertainment cards were a big hit last year! And watch for more events to be announced as the school year continues.

Thompson Education Foundation is the community’s best answer to support student and educator opportunities in Thompson School District. To find out more about TEF or to make a gift, you can find TEF online at
