Healthy Schools
-
Recognizing the clear link between health and academic performance, Thompson School District utilizes the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model to work towards a collaborative approach in support of health and learning. We know that schools play a critical role in youth health promotion and in helping to develop and establish lifelong healthy skills and behaviors.
Health and wellness initiatives to support the social, emotional, mental and physical health of students and staff are implemented at individual schools with the help of school wellness teams, students, staff, families and community partners.
The district wellness policy and corresponding regulation help reinforce a healthy school culture. The policy and regulation are posted on the district website under Board of Education (ADF and ADF-R).
We are appreciative of the support we receive from the Thompson community and look forward to continued collaboration. If you have any questions regarding wellness in TSD or would like to help support healthy schools, please contact the district wellness coordinator at 970-613-5127 or connect with your school principal.
