Step 1: Is My Child Eligible for Early Childhood?

My family lives within the Thompson School District boundaries. Not sure? Check your address here.
My child will be age 3 or 4 by October 1 which may qualify for Head Start, Universal Preschool and tuition pay.

For 2023-2024, fill out the Universal Preschool Application first. This is the link to the universal application: UPK Application .
Complete New Student Registration

Please complete both the application and registration above.

Completing the applications does not guarantee placement into a program. (Review the qualifying factors listed under Program Descriptions.)

Submit UPK Application to the State. Parent/guardian must accept this application result.
Complete New Student Registration.
Complete registration packet from Early Childhood Education Center at Stansberry.
Packet includes double-sided green emergency card and pink classroom placement document.
Provide the following documents to Early Childhood Education Center at Stansberry:
- Proof of residency such as a rental/lease agreement or utility bill
- Birth certificate
- Immunization records
- Physical signed by the doctor within the last 12 months
  Required within 30 days of starting school
- Head Start: Lead and hematocrit testing
  Required within 30 days of starting school
- Head Start: Dental exam
  Required within 30 days of starting school
- Tuition-Based: Signed tuition contract
  The office will discuss this document and costs with you.

Submit UPK Application to the State. Parent/guardian must accept this application result.
Complete Registration for 2023-24 school year.
Complete registration packet sent home with your child.
Packet includes double-sided green emergency card and pink classroom placement document.
Provide the following documents to Early Childhood Education Center at Stansberry:
- Any updates to immunization records
- Updated physical if one on file is older than 12 months
- Head Start: Annual Blood Screen (HCT/HBG)
- Head Start: Annual dental exam
- Tuition-Based: Signed tuition contract
