• Thompson School District
Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Program
    2020-2021 Application Form

    Information

    • Before you apply, make sure you meet the eligibility requirements listed on the first page of the application.
    •
    • Participants will be paid for a total of 30 hours at minimum wage, which will be applied towards their property taxes.
    •
    • Please carefully read and make sure to fill out the application completely. Missing information may prevent you from obtaining an in-person screening.
    •
    • Most volunteer opportunities are in our schools during school hours.
    •
    • Most positions are 2-3 hours per week throughout the school year.
    •
    • There are different types of positions with the school district beyond helping students in a classroom. Please make sure to highlight your strengths in whatever area you have skills and experience.  Do not disregard any unique skill or experience because sometimes we have a need for random positions like helping a chess club, sewing club, or music teacher.  We also may need landscapers, office work, and other non-classroom types of work.
    •
    • If you will be out of town for extended periods throughout the year, please do not apply. Positions are typically needed on an on-going basis.  (Vacations two or three times a year are OK.)
    •
    • There are a very limited number of new openings in the Senior Citizen Property Tax Work-Off Program based on the 2020-2021 budget. The pool of applicants will be narrowed down to 20 in-person screenings. Those in-person screenings will be further narrowed down to fill the openings. Chosen applicants will be based on a variety of factors. Some of those factors include, but are not limited to, experience, interests, and availability.

Deadline to apply is August 28. However, in-person screenings will begin in the middle of July.
