Mrs. Shena Schultz

Shena is excited to join the herd at High Plains as the art teacher. Though this is her first year teaching, she has been an active school volunteer and substitute teacher for High Plains. Shena is the President of the HPS PTCO and an assistant coach for the HPS middle school boys and girls basketball teams. She coaches 2nd and 3rd grade girls basketball through the Chilson Center and leads a Daisy and Brownie Girl Scout troop at HPS.

She has her Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and her Master of Arts from the University of Oklahoma. For the last 8 years, Shena’s creative endeavor has been to run and operate her embroidery and screen print shop.

When she's not at HPS, Shena loves spending time with her family and friends. She is married to her husband, Kyle and they have an amazing daughter, McKayla. They also have two fun-loving fur babies, Bernie and Rosie. Shena enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, skiing, reading, cozy socks, has a new love/hate of hot yoga, and basketball.

Shena's goal is to create an engaging and enjoyable school interaction so that students have a positive educational experience. She encourages the students to be an active participant in their education. By creating a safe space for students to learn and grow, the students are engaged and actively lead their lessons. She firmly believes that every bison is an artist!
