Ms. Shawna Potter
Ms. Potter is a Colorado native who has lived in Northern Colorado for the last 17 years. Since the time Ms. Potter was in kindergarten she dreamed of becoming an educator. She attended the University of Northern Colorado where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Ms. Potter has spent 6 years teaching in early childhood, 9 years as an elementary school teacher and one year as Dean of Students in middle school. She finds teaching to be thoroughly rewarding and strives to ensure that all students succeed. Her main goals as an educator are to inspire students to take risks, ask questions and become lifelong learners. When entering Ms. Potter’s classroom students will become a part of a safe and supportive community where they can discover their strengths, learn from their mistakes, and overcome challenges.
In her spare time, Ms. Potter enjoys spending time with her family. Being a Colorado Native, she is in her element the most when she is in the mountains camping and hiking. She also enjoys traveling, yoga, working out, cooking and reading. Her favorite genres of books are historical fiction and thrillers.
Ms. Potter is excited to join the High Plains School as a 4th grade teacher!
