MVHS Give Next Philanthropy Club is open to all students and is designed to provide them with hands-on experience with supporting nonprofits in Larimer County. Our club receives $5,000 through the Bohemian Foundation and Community Foundation of Northern Colorado program, along with local businesses and individuals, which allows students to run their own grantmaking programs and award these monies to nonprofits in our community. The fun begins in the Fall when we attend Kick-off Day to learn about a variety of nonprofits and to get inspired by the work they are doing. During our club meetings at school, students work together to choose a focus area, create a mission statement, research nonprofits, volunteer, conduct site visits, review grant applications, and make funding decisions. We wrap up our year in the Spring with an end-of-year celebration in which we award grants to the selected nonprofits.Interested in more information?
