Mr. Aaron Estevez
Aaron is beginning his fourth year of teaching and second year at HPS. He teaches writing to grades six, seven, and eight. Aaron is also the Head Coach for Cross Country and Track and Field as well as the ELA Curriculum Coordinator and Activities Coordinator. Aaron grew up in Loveland, attending Monroe Elementary, Conrad Ball Middle School, and Loveland High School where he graduated from the IB Diploma Program. After receiving a Boettcher Scholarship, Aaron attended CU Boulder where he majored in Economics and International Affairs and minored in Leadership Studies, Aaron then completed a Masters in Finance, also at CU Boulder.
As the son of a retired TSD Early Childhood teacher, Aaron knew he wouldn't have had the opportunities he did without the support of numerous incredible teachers during his K-12 education, so Aaron wanted to pay it forward. He joined Teach For America, a national program whose mission is to enlist, develop, and mobilize as many as possible of our nation's most promising future leaders to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence. Aaron taught 8th grade ELA in Indianapolis, IN for two years and earned his Master of Arts in Teaching. The experience transformed him and uncovered a passion for education.
Aaron wanted to come full circle and invest in the same community that invested in him, so he returned to Loveland to teach in TSD. Aaron is an unabashed space geek and lover of all things to do with science and technology, so he was excited by HPS's STEAM and PBL approach to education and eagerly joined the team.
When he's not teaching, Aaron craves new challenges and adventures to better himself and grow. He's been to 12 countries and completed 10 marathons across two continents. He's also finished two triathlons (including the 2019 Ironman 70.3 in Boulder) and a 50k ultramarathon. Aaron also loves SCUBA diving, bouldering, reading, skiing, camping, karaoke, Pokemon, fly fishing, cycling, and the Spanish language, which he speaks fairly well.
