Mrs. Carolyn Phelps

This will be Carolyn’s 15th year teaching middle school math! She started her career teaching in a small school in Idaho and then moved to the great state of Washington to teach 8th grade math, algebra, geometry and as a math instructional coach for the middle school math teachers. Carolyn started off her college career playing basketball for Fort Lewis College and then earned her BS in Computer Information Systems from Metropolitan State University. She went back to school to earn her teaching license at Metro State. Carolyn recently earned her Master’s in Education from Concordia University in Portland, Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in mathematics.

Carolyn and her husband, Scott, just celebrated 22 – years of marriage! They have two children, Sage (18) attending Fort Lewis College, and Paige (16) attending Thompson Valley High School. We love to spend time together: skiing, camping, and time at the lake. We have two black labs (Porter and Tipsy)– who like to join us on  all of our adventures.

Carolyn is extremely excited to meet the students, parents, and community of High Plains!
