A special note about Work-Based Learning during the COVID-19 school closure:

Schools may be closed but you can still apply for future Work-Based Learning opportunities! Even in these uncertain times, we are working hard to connect you with local businesses and organizations that are providing internship and apprenticeship opportunities that start this fall or in early 2021.  Utilize this time to apply and prepare for a future career exploration, skill-building experience that will help set you above other students!

Fall 2020 - We have a blog!  Click on the Blaze the Trail Blog -  your source for the latest information and news to guide, inspire, and encourage you to blaze your own trail with Work-Based Learning in Thompson School District.

Work-Based Learning opportunities currently available for students are posted here and in our high schools. Check out the CAREER CORNER to find out who's hiring/hosting and how to apply!

The Pathfinder Work-Based Learning Program provides a continuum of real-world opportunities for students at all levels to explore career paths while gaining valuable work experience, building career and college readiness skills, and making valuable connections to the community.

Work-Based Learning Continuum:  Students of every age and grade level are exploring careers!  Through meaningful field experiences and tours, guest speakers, career fairs, and the ICAP, students learn about work.  Project-based learning, internship, and work experiences students learn through work.  And students now have the opportunity to learn at work by participating in a multi-year paid apprenticeship.  Click here to view TSD's work-based learning continuum.

Pathfinder Internship and Pathfinder Apprenticeship represent the highest level of work-based learning opportunities offered by the Thompson School District, and both fulfill the Career Pathway Elective graduation requirement for high school students.  Utilize the menu at left to learn about these opportunities and apply for a life-changing career experience!
