Overview
Advances in everything from aerospace to medicine are dependent upon improved technology designed by engineers and skilled professionals. Students will master hands-on skills using 3-D printers, laser engravers, water jet CNC, milling machines. Students will also receive training in advanced processes including CAD/CMM programming, automation control circuits, instrumentation, programmable Logic controllers and robotics technology in manufacturing.

Requirements & Prerequisites
This pathway is open to students in 10th, 11th and 12th grade.
- Students must complete Algebra I or higher, prior to entering this pathway.

Certifications
Trade specific certifications offered during the pathway:
1st year- OSHA 10- Manufacturing, CAD Drafting, Autodesk Inventor, Blueprint Reading
2nd year- Sigma Six, 5S
Students may also have the opportunity to work towards AIMS certificates: Manufacturing Technician

High School Credit
Students earn 1.5 credit each semester of core and elective. This pathway issued the following high school credit:
Please note none of the courses offered at TCC are currently approved by the NCAA.
1st Semester (Year one of pathway)
.5 English- Grade Level, .5 Chemistry or GeoPhys Science, .5 CTE elective
2nd Semester (Year one of pathway)
.5 English- Grade Level, .5 Applied Math, .5 CTE elective
3rd Semester (Year two of pathway)
.5 English- Grade Level, .5 Chemistry or GeoPhys Science, .5 CTE elective
4th Semester (Year two of pathway)

Concurrent Enrollment Credit
The Manufacturing & Design pathway allows students to earn tuition FREE AIMS Community College credit for the work they complete at Thompson Career campus.* Students must apply to AIMS and pay the registration fee. This pathway issues the following college credit:
1st Semester:
AEC 233 - Const Safety / Loss Prevention-Credits: 2
2nd Semester:
PRO 100- TBD(4 credits), ELT 258 - Programmable Logic Controllers (3 credits)
3rd Semester:
PRO 120- Instrumentation I (4 credits), ELT 259- Adv. Programmable Logic Controllers (3 credits)
4th Semester:
PRO 130- Instrumentation I, ELT 268- Robotics Tech. (3 credits)
Are these classes considered Guarantee Transfer college credit? No. Students are encouraged to connect with their preferred college/university advisor to determine transferability of college credit.
*If the student recieves a grade of 'F', 'W' or 'Incomplete' on their college transcript, the student may be required to pay back the tutition cost to Thompson School District.
