The Department of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
supports TSD's Strategic Plan: Strive 2025 in all four areas:
1) Student Achievement
2) Inclusive and Supportive Culture
3) Human Talent
4) Stewardship of Resources
Each activity below is connected to a Desired Outcome found in the Strategic Plan and is noted in parenthesis.
Some of EDI's activities include:

Provide professional learning opportunities within New Teacher Orientation, TENS Week, EL PD Pathway, and Classified Staff Training (1.1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5, 3.1, 3.2)

Facilitate Thompson Educational Equity Council (TEEC) and Student Educational Equity Council (SEEC) (2.3)

Create resources to increase access to TSD families in their children’s learning (2.3)

Support diverse student programming (2.4)

Enact the Educational Equity Policy (2.5) through the continued implementation of the TSD Educational Equity Framework

Implement an evidence-based culturally responsive retention strategy (3.3)

Support historically underserved students with access and opportunity to visit college campuses (4.1, 4.2)

The EDI Department shares TSD’s commitment to ensuring equity, access, and opportunity for EACH student while recognizing, honoring, and respecting EACH student as a whole child.
