Dr. Shannon Altenhofen is a social psychologist (PhD, Colorado State University, 2009) and a school psychologist (EdS, NCSP, University of Colorado, 2013). She is currently the school psychologist at High Plains School where she is available to support students who might be eligible for special education services, as well as students currently receiving special education services. She has interests in prevention efforts and started the Girls on the Run program at High Plains School. Previously, she worked as a research psychologist with expertise in early socio-emotional development. She has published studies of attachment in special populations (e.g., divorce, foster care). She has worked as a school psychologist in the Thompson School District for four years. She also enjoys running for fun and trains and runs distance trail races in Colorado.
