Mrs. Kate Goldberg
"If you want to reach a child's mind,
you must first reach their heart."
- Margaret Wheatley
Mrs. Kate Goldberg is embarking on her 3rd year at HPS and is thrilled to be joining the First Grade Team! She has a passion for early literacy and can't wait to share that with her students! She received her B.A. in Communication and Masters in Education and Human Development with an emphasis in Early Literacy from the University of Colorado. She taught in the Denver Public Schools and Brighton School Districts before moving back to Loveland and joining the Thompson School District where she once attended school herself!
In the classroom, Kate strives to support her students' natural curiosity through authentic experiences that promote ownership of their learning. She uses the STEAM model to help her students develop problem-solving strategies while capturing the joy of lifelong learning! Her goal for learners is that they will embrace a growth mindset, gain confidence in their abilities, and develop perseverance, while learning to have empathy and compassion for others.
When Kate is not in the classroom, she can usually be found surrounded by dogs! She is a lifelong animal-lover and volunteer adoption coordinator for a local animal rescue. Kate enjoys spending time with her family, her husband, Stephen, and their rescue pups, Gemma and Harper!
