    Hello Erwin Students and Parents

Track season is around the corner! We will be starting the 2022 season this spring on March 7th, after school. Practices will be everyday after school and end by 6pm.

Paperwork to participate can be found at the front office of the school. All paperwork and payments should be turned in to the front office before the first practice. If you are completing the paperwork online, please be sure to bring proof of payment to the front office so they know that your payment is covered.

There will be an informational meeting in the cafeteria after school on Wednesday, February 23rd to discuss the start of the season.

If you have any questions, please contact Nick Divine at nick.divine@tsd.org Welcome to the 2022 Erwin Track season!

Attendance: Consequences for an unexcused tardy or absence are as follows:

Tardies = Three unexcused tardies result in a one meet suspension

                                                    1 absence = Parent communication

2 absences = one meet suspension

3 absences = Multiple meet suspension

Multiple Sport Athletes: Athletes that participate in other sports/activities outside of school need to communicate their schedules clearly with coaches.  Absences due to these other commitments are excused with a note.  However, athletes that are constantly missing practice or meets due to other commitments may lose the opportunity to compete in varsity meets.  This is not to penalize these athletes, but varsity spots will be given to those athletes that can commit their time and training to track.  This will be dealt with on a case by case basis.  Please communicate with coaches if you have any questions or concerns about this.

Loveland Track Meets: There will be transportation to local city meets, however, there will NOT be transportation back to Erwin from these meets.  It is the responsibility of the athlete to make sure they have transportation home from Loveland meets with their parent/guardian.

Away Track MeetsThere will be transportation provided to and from meets outside of Loveland.   For liability reasons, if you choose to go home with a parent from these meets, you must sign out prior to leaving, and let a coach know.  The sign-out sheet will be on a clipboard in the track bucket.

Grades: Athletes with 2 or more 1.5’s in Work Habits will result in a meet suspension for the following week.  Eligibility is pulled every Monday morning for the week.

Discipline: Any significant school discipline issues could result in meet suspension and/or team dismissal.

Fundraising:We have a very limited track budget overall and are looking to hopefully purchase some equipment as much of ours is broken and not effective. If you are able, any donations to the track team would be greatly appreciated. We will also be selling T-shirts and long sleeved shirts this season for the track team and supporters. This will serve as our main fundraiser and we will expect athletes to purchase a shirt as a part of the team, they will be priced to be affordable. Information for this will be given to athletes next week and will be made available on the school track website.

Thank you and we are looking forward to a great season!
