Welcome to 1st grade! This will mark my twentieth year teaching. Teaching and watching children grow is my passion. I have a BA in Physical Science and an MA in Reading. My teaching career began in Japan teaching conversational English. Then in 1999, I came to Edmondson. For the past eighteen years, I have taught Kindergarten, 1st, 4/5th and 5th. My husband, Robert, teaches fourth grade in Berthoud. We have 16-year-old twin boys. Baylor and Lauden have graduated elementary school here at Edmondson and are now sophomores at Loveland High School. Together we love playing golf and attending various High School activities! My personal hobbies include sewing, crafting, and reading.
Each morning when the bell rings, the children should line up along the brick wall on the sidewalk outside our classroom door. Please make sure your child knows how he/she is getting home after school. At the end of the day, the students will come out the classroom door. For safety reasons if you (or anyone else) are picking up your child, please arrange to meet in front of the school. This will help me make sure all the children get on the correct bus or picked up for the day.
We will be serving breakfast every morning in the classroom at the start of the day. Breakfast is free and optional. Only school provided breakfast is allowed in the classroom, no breakfast from home. I encourage children to bring water bottles for water only. It is important the bottles have spill proof lids. Please, no twist off caps, we need to keep papers and books dry. We do have a drinking fountain for those without a water bottle.
At this time, I’d like you remind you to mark your calendars for our “Parent Information Night” on Thursday, September 1st. More information will be coming home soon.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, celebrations or concerns. You can reach me through written note, email, voice-mail and sometimes after school. Because we now serve breakfast everyday, before school meetings will need to be prearranged as I won’t have time to answer questions at the door. For urgent needs please contact the front office in person or at 613-6300. I have provided you a magnet with my contact information. I will do my best to return emails and phone calls within 48 hours. If you have not heard from me in that time frame please try again or call the office.
I appreciate all your help and look forward to seeing you on September 1st at our Parent Information Night!
Here’s to a great year!
