Welcome to the LHS Middle Years Programme (MYP) Page
The Middle Years Programme: preparing students to be successful in school and to be active, lifelong learners.
The MYP is designed for students in grades 6-10. At LHS, students participate in the two culminating years of the MYP. Students have the opportunity to begin the MYP, in Thompson School District, at Lucile Erwin Middle School
. Students entering LHS from a middle school other than Lucile Erwin may still participate in the MYP.
"The MYP... provides a framework of learning which encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The MYP emphasizes intellectual challenge, encouraging students to make connections between their studies in traditional subjects and to the real world. It fosters the development of skills for communication, intercultural understanding and global engagement, qualities that are essential for life in the 21st century." (IB Middle Years Programme. Web. International Baccalaureate. 27 August 2013.)
