What is Model United Nations?
Model UN is a form of political roleplaying that helps participants gain an understanding of global issues and the real world politics surrounding them. In Model UN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN Member States to debate current issues on the organization’s agenda. While playing their roles as ambassadors, student delegates make speeches, propose solutions, and negotiate with allies and adversaries. Model UN is a form of political roleplay that helps you gain an understanding of global issues and the real world politics surrounding them, as well as an opportunity to propose solutions through collaboration and creative problem-solving.
MUN is a way for students to become more active, concerned global citizens; while in this era of globalization being globally aware is more important than ever. MUN builds leadership and confidence skills necessary no matter where life may take you.
We compete at 4 conferences a year, two per semester, all around northern Colorado. Competitions are on Saturdays and last all day. Meetings are held during lunch on Wednesdays.
