• Thompson School District Student Learning Objectives
TSD is piloting the use of Student Learning Objectives for the 2015-2016 school year with the following groups: SSPs, new hires without access to district common assessments, ILC teachers, ESS Teachers, and special program teachers (e.g. SOARs, TOL, etc.). These groups of teachers are being asked to utilize SLOs this year because the current assessments we have in place are either not relevant or do not meet the needs of the educator.
    What is an SLO?
A specific, long-term goal for student learning, customized to a teacher’s particular students. SLOs are designed to both support instruction and measure student growth for teacher evaluation.
    Writing your SLO:
To write your SLO please review the SLO Guide Book and complete the SLO template.  All SLOs are due to evaluators by October 30, 2015. More information regrading the timeline can be found on page 3 of the guide book.
    Approving the SLO:
You will need to submit your SLO for approval by October 30, 2015.  Your evaluator will complete the rubric by November 13, 2015.
