Theater History at LHS

  • Loveland High School has a long tradition of producing outstanding plays and musicals. The LHS Theater first opened its doors in 1963, and has been serving students and the community ever since. It is here that LHS has put on a variety of Shakespeare classics such as Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, and Othello. Patrons and students have experienced musicals from Moby Dick to Les Miserables to Music Man.

Current English teachers Ms. Karen Bieser and Ms. Taylor Stewart are the theatre directing team. Mrs. Bieser has been directing/assistant directing at LHS for the past five years.  Together Mrs. Steketee and Bieser have brought to life Cinderella, Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, and Shrek the Musical, with three of these shows earning Bobby G nominations!  Choir director Ms. Steketee and orchestra director Mr. Smith now head up the musical team.  Mrs Bieser also heads up the theatre troupe.

For years, the LHS Theater has seen some stellar musicals and straight plays for the community to enjoy. And the program expects many more performances to come.
