Describe: Small school atmosphere; part of a family; make a point to know all parents and students; comfortable; welcoming; we value each individual. We are a family community school that prides ourselves in excellent customer service. We have a committed staff that collaborates for the well-being of each student and are responsive to individual needs.
Stellar Points: We are a STEM focus school! We embrace a growth mindset by helping our students reach success with the following attitudes: I can learn anything I want to; When I’m frustrated, I persevere; I like to challenge myself; When I fail, I learn; I like being told that I try hard; If my classmates succeed, I’m inspired; My effort and attitude determine everything. We believe in teaching and learning through inquiry. One of the ways we do this is by using Design Thinking to solve real problems and issues related to what we are studying. All of our learning is framed around a focusing lens that helps us make sense of the world and are enduring understandings that will matter years from now. In September of 2015-16, we received a $10,100 grant from Ottercares to create an Innovation Station (maker space) where students will have space and time for innovation, creativity, engineering, and designing.
