    • MVHS Announcements for September 10, 2019

      • Attention Mountain View Class of 2022 Students!  Class Ring order day is coming. Lindsay Bellus from Jostens will be in school to help you place your class ring orders on Thursday, September 12th and Friday, September 13th during lunch. 
      • There will be a meeting for 9th graders interested in Model UN on Tuesday 9/10 in Ms. Evans room E124 at 4:00.  Please come by and learn about Model UN and how you can contribute to the world.
      • Model UN will also be having a Panda Express fundraiser this Thursday from 4-9. Digital flyers will be posted on @mountain View Highschool instagram page by the end of the school day. Just show them when you pay. 
      • We have some  college visits to announce today….The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles will be at MVHS on Wednesday 9/11 at 12:15 in the library. Stop by to learn more about the school! A representative from the Savannah College for Art and Design will be visiting the MVHS library on Thursday, September 12 during PRIDE. Please see Mrs. Griffith in Mummy Range for your PRIDE pass. A representative form the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus will be at MVHS on Thursday 9/12 at 12:15 in the library conference room. Stop by to learn more about their school!
      • We are taking students to the Colorado School of Mines on 9/19. Permission forms can be picked up in any counseling center and returned to Indian Peaks. Permission forms are due by 9/16, and spots are first come first serve!
      • Knitting club meets every Tuesday from 4-5pm in the media center beginning September 17. Knitters and crocheters of all levels, including beginners, are welcome. We will be making "Knitted Knockers" for mastectomy patients at McKee Medical Center and we'd love your help! See Ms. Medina or Ms. Knowles for any questions.
      • While Mrs. Rosten is out on maternity leave, her students 10-12 graders with last names A and R-Z can go see Mrs. Schwab in Indian Peaks.
      • Attention DECA members and interested members.  Permission slip forms and payment are due for DU Invitationals today.  Also, permission slip forms and payments for Business of Baseball will be due Friday, September 13th.   There will be a DECA meeting this Thursday, during lunch in room E129. Please see Mr. Kaufhold, Coach Jones, or your officer team if you have any questions.

      • We have  two college visits this week:  Colorado Western University will be visiting the Mountain View library on Thursday September 5 during PRIDE. See Mrs. Griffith in the Mummy Range center for a PRIDE pass to see their representative. Colorado Christian University will be visiting Mountain View on today Wednesday September 4 during lunch in the library

      • Hello current and interested DECA members.  There will be an informational DECA meeting on Thursday during lunch in room E129 to talk about What is DECA, Why you should join DECA, and the exciting things we will do this year."
      • First FCCLA meeting of the year will be an ice cream social this Wednesday in room C123 at lunch time. Welcome back previous members and new members anyone can join too! See you then!

      • For safety and security reasons, we will no longer receive deliveries for students (eg GrubHub, DoorDash, UberEats, Instacart, Postmates, Seamless, goPuff, Jimmy Johns, etc.). This includes food and beverage as well as flowers and gift deliveries. Please inform any parties who may schedule delivery of items for you that these items will be turned away at the front door. 
      • Have you taken Catering or ProStart or are you currently enrolled in one of these classes? If yes, then come learn about traveling to Disney's Cook Around the World Competition this April!  There will be a student and parent meeting Wednesday August 28th at 7:00 pm in room C127.  
      • Reminder : There will be a meet and greet ice cream Social on Wednesday August 28th at 7:00 pm in thompson valley hish school cafeteria to meet the the Thompson Valley Lacrosse head coach - Steve Payton. Please plan to attend and receive information about the Fall and Winter lacrosse opportunities.
      • The first Thespian meeting will be this Thursday, August 29th at lunch in the choir room.  What's a thespian you ask?  Thespis was the first Greek actor, so the trade of acting was named after him.  The Thespian Troupe is the club here at Mountain View for all things theatre. Actors and Techies alike are welcome and encouraged to join.  Hope to see you Thursday!
