Thompson2Life (T2L) is the district's academic initiative; a task force was created to support these new academic initiatives.The goal of Thompson2Life (T2L) is to Ensure College, Career, and Community Readiness for Early Childhood through 12th grade.The district task force will be reviewing areas including, but not limited to:
- high school schedules
- graduation requirements
- college entrance and opportunities
- competency-based learning
- post-secondary access for all students.
- systems of communication with our Early Childhood -12th grade parents and community
How do we achieve College, Career and Community Readiness?
We will achieve College, Career and Community Readiness through a Competency-Based Education (CBE) System.

Standards-Based Instruction (SBI):
A style of instruction that is commonly used in Competency-Based Education. The goal of SBI is to ensure students are acquiring the knowledge and skills that are deemed essential to success in school, higher education, careers, and adult life.
SBI includes scoring which provides an accurate picture and communicates your student’s growth and achievement by giving clear, specific feedback on their growth toward the application and transfer of grade level content and standards.
In 2013, the Colorado Commission on Higher Education adopted the Higher Education Admission Requirements (HEAR) which are entry requirements for students planning to attend any of Colorado’s public four-year colleges or universities.
