Welcome to Laurene Edmondson Elementary School
Our mission is simple. We strive to maximize all student outcomes. To do this we are a responsive community that engages learners through critical thinking, collaboration, inquiry and problem solving to empower students to be innovative world citizens.
History: Laurene Edmondson Elementary opened its doors to students in 1979. The building was named for Ms. Laurene Edmondson who was a beloved music teacher in the Loveland schools from 1940-1975.
Currently, Laurene Edmondson has a student population of approximately 238 students in grades K-5. There is also an Early Childhood Center on our 10 acre campus. For specific information and a map of attendance boundaries, consult the Thompson School District website at www.thompsonschools.org
Laurene Edmondson is staffed with 25 certified members of the teaching staff and 14 classified/support staff and one Reading Corps Tutors. In addition to core academic subjects, students have the benefit of weekly art, music, physical education, library and computer/technology classes. Special services available to students include: special education, literacy support, speech language therapy, gifted and talented classes, occupational therapy, and counseling.
School hours are 8:00 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
