Ivy Stockwell Elementary School
Mission: Challenge and engage everyone in our learning community to achieve at high levels in preparation for our ever-changing-world.
History: Ivy Stockwell Elementary was built in 1974 and opened its doors to students for the first time during the 1975-76 school year. The building was named for Ms. Ivy Stockwelll who was a native of the Berthoud area and taught in the Berthoud Schools for 51 years. The original building met the needs of the community until 1998 when approximately 6 classrooms were added to the structure.
Currently, Ivy Stockwell has a student population of approximately 390 students in grades K-5. The Ivy Stockwell attendance area encompasses the southern portion of the Berthoud Community. Most areas south of Mountain Avenue are within the Ivy Stockwell attendance boundaries. For specific information and a map of attendance boundaries, consult the Thompson School District website at www.thompsonschools.org
In addition to core academic subjects, students have the benefit of weekly art, music, physical education, library and computer/technology classes. Special services available to students include: special education, literacy support, speech language therapy, gifted and talented classes, occupational therapy, and counseling.
