Family and Community Engagement
The Thompson School District believes that families and educators are partners in the education of children. Two community outreach liaisons, fluent in English and Spanish, reach out to all sections of the Thompson School District. These community outreach liaisons focus exclusively on those schools with the highest percentages of students on free and reduced-price meals.
An English Language Acquisition Parent Advisory Council meets on a monthly basis. This council, run by parents and supported by the English Language Acquisition administrator, provides leadership for the district's English Language Acquisition program including parent education, supplemental materials selection, professional development for teachers, extended schooling opportunities, priority setting, budget development, and program evaluation.
