Hi Stallion Family! My name is Megan Dupont, RN, BSN. I am the school nurse for Ivy Stockwell Elementary, Winona Elementary and Bill Reed Middle School. This is my second year as a school nurse and my second year at Ivy. I have been a nurse for 13 years.
I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I received a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in 2000 where I met my husband of 19 years. I was a stay at home mom for 6 years to my three kids before deciding to go back to working outside of the home. I went back to school and received my Associates Degree in Nursing from Southern Arkansas University. I worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA for 10 years. After the Great Louisiana Flood of 2016, my husband was offered a job here in Colorado. We moved to Windsor as a family in June of 2017 and I received my Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Western Governors University in October 2017. I worked at PVH and MCR as an IV Team/PICC nurse for over a year before becoming a school nurse for Thompson School District.
My oldest son is a freshman at the University of Alabama, plays alto sax for Alabama's Million Dollar Marching Band and is studying Music Composition for film. My middle son is a sophomore at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins and plays trumpet in the marching band. My youngest daughter is an 8th grader at Preston Middle School, plays flute in the band and is an all star cheerleader at Steele Athletics. As a family, we love to hike, ride bikes, do lake days and have family movie and game nights. We love to cook authentic Cajun food for our friends here in Colorado.
I am so happy to be your school nurse this year! I am working hard, along with all of the IVY staff, to keep your kids safe at school.
