Digital Badges Program
Innovative Technology Services and Learning Services would like to recognize the expertise of our many teachers that have put in the extra effort to become highly skilled in instructional technology. There are three digital badges that are combined with your usual Google Account profile image into a four quadrant badge that becomes your Google Account profile image. If you have one or two badges, the ones you don't have are simply left blank until you earn that quadrant. To earn the badges, follow the steps below.
- Email Dave Dellwardt at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a badge. Include evidence in your email. The evidence needed is described below. If your badge is approved, Dave will change your Google Account icon with the new four-quadrant profile image. It will include what you had in your profile image in the upper left quadrant and the added badge in one of the other quadrants.
- Apple Badge - The Apple Badge is located in the upper right quadrant. To qualify, you must attend at least two Apple specific PD opportunities beyond the basic/introductory level or achieve your Apple Teacher Certification at https://www.apple.com/education/apple-teacher and use Apple hardware in your TSD position. Email the dates and proof of your training and a description of the Apple equipment you use in your job to Dave Dellwardt for consideration.
- Google Badge - The Google Badge is located in the lower right quadrant of your account profile icon. To qualify, you must attend at least two Google specific PD opportunities beyond the basic/introductory level or achieve your Google Educator Level I and II Certifications at https://teachercenter.withgoogle.com/certification and use Google hardware and/or software in your TSD position. Email the dates and proof of your training and a description of the Google equipment and/or software you use in your job to Dave Dellwardt for consideration.
- Trainer Badge - The Trainer Badge is located in the lower left quadrant. To qualify, you must facilitate at least two instructional technology PD opportunities such as training for your work peers, conference presentation, or TSD EdCamp PD. Email the dates and a description of the professional development you facilitated to Dave Dellwardt for consideration.
