McKinney-Vento Homeless Program
A Federal program that works with homeless families to ensure immediate enrollment of their children in school. Helps arrange transportation to and from child’s school of origin. Ensures that homeless students receive services comparable to those received by housed school mates. Identifies and eliminates barriers to school enrollment and attendance.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Ensuring prompt identification of homeless students and unaccompanied youth and providing necessary services to students. Knowledgeable of the McKinney-Vento act and coordinating services by providing referrals to resources in the community. Providing information to schools and families regarding educational rights of homeless students and ensuring necessary follow up.
