The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), fine arts and service learning. Our participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. Teams may showcase their solutions at a tournament.
There will be 2 teams of up to 7 members each meeting Thursday after school until 5pm from October 29, 2015 through March 17, 2016. This club requires a firm time commitment because if a member drops out, they cannot be replaced.
Each team will select the one challenge they will solve, and you can learn about the choices and see a short video at the DI website.

There will be a $25 fee to cover solution materials. Depending on the team’s solution, it’s possible that not all of the funds will be used and they may be returned. Last year, we used the extra money for team t-shirts. If a team wins at the Regional tournament and chooses to go to State, there will be an additional entry fee. If a team wins at State, they can decide if they want to continue on to the Global Finals, which will require significant travel funds.
