• BHS Knowledge Bowl Team Places in National Tournament

    The Berthoud High School Knowledge Bowl team took 2nd place in their first-ever national tournament. State champions and top state finishers from Washington, Minnesota and Colorado competed in the national tournament. The BHS team was placed in the 3A bracket and finished behind Tartan High School, a school with 1,700 students in Oakdale, Minn. The BHS team is made up of seniors Eliana Paradise, Corey Schanker, Ellie Sundheim, Aiden Cranwell and Rachel Hoogland. They’ve been state runners-up twice and won this year’s state championship.

  • LHS Students Place in FCCLA State Competition

    Two Loveland High School students were top finishers in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Colorado state competition: Aaron Koso, 2nd place, gold medal in the Gourmet Savory Food Presentation category; Reece Bandemer, 3rd place, bronze medal in the Job Interview category.

  • MVHS Students Excel in the Stock Market Game

    Mountain View High School students took eight of the top ten spots in the state in the 2021 Stock Market Game. There were 367 participants in Colorado this year. The Stock Market Game is an online simulation of the global capital markets that engages students in grades 4-12 in the world of economics, investing and personal finance and prepares students for financially independent futures.

  • TSD Staff Named as 2021 Educators of the Year

    Thompson Education Foundation announced the winners of the 2021 Educator of the Year awards during its Trailblazing Thompson event. These annual awards are supported by King Buick GMC which provides a 60-day car lease to each category winner and a 24-month car lease to the overall TEF Educator of the Year. The 2021 recipients were: 

    • ​TEF Educator of the Year – Barb Hartman, TSD Health Services Coordinator
    • Elementary Educator – Karen Shumate, Mary Blair Elementary School
    • Secondary Educator – Ericka Griess, Mountain View High School
    • Principal – Deon Davis, Coyote Ridge Elementary School

  • LHS Students Awarded National Honor Society Scholarships

    Loveland High School seniors Stephen Ritschard and Shannon Tyler have been selected as National Honor Society Scholarship recipients. They were chosen from nearly 10,000 applicants and will receive a scholarship toward higher education. Recipients are chosen based on their demonstrated work to support the four pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership and character.

  • TSD Students Place at DECA State Leadership Conference

    Thompson School District’s top finishers at the Colorado DECA State Leadership Conference were: Kayson Marler, Loveland High School – 1st place in Entrepreneurship Series and 1st place in Startup Business Plan; Mckenzie Lindgren, Loveland High School – 2nd place in Marketing Communications; Jaden Fitzpatrick, Thompson Valley High School – 2nd place in Principles of Hospitality; Max Thornton and Daniel Lange, Loveland High School – 3rd place in Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making; and Louie Grimaldo and Cody Thompson, Loveland High School – 5th place in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making.

  • TSD has Four State Champions in Boys Wrestling

    Thompson School District had four champions in the Boys Wrestling 4A State Championship: Thompson Valley High School freshman Jackzen Rairdon (106 lbs.), Loveland High School junior Kobi Johnson (113 lbs.), Loveland High School senior Cody Thompson (132 lbs.), and Thompson Valley High School senior Jacob Bierman (152 lbs.).

    Loveland High School student Ramona Edwards was recognized as an Academic All American by the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA). Fewer than 2% of NSDA students earn the Academic All American award every year. This prestigious award celebrates the academic excellence, outstanding character, leadership and competitive success of high school students.
