    Salvation Army: Thanksgiving turkeys

    THANKSGIVING TURKEY VOUCHERS—SALVATION ARMY LOVELAND Provides frozen turkey vouchers to families and individuals residing in Loveland and Berthoud on a first come first serve basis. They only offer frozen turkeys, no food baskets. Vouchers are distributed Monday through Friday, between the hours 9am – 5pm.      Associated Veterans of Loveland and the American legion

    The Associated Veterans of Loveland and the American legion will be offering a free Thanksgiving Dinner. The meal is designed for veterans, their families and anyone who is in need, alone, or home-bound. It will take place Thursday, November 28th 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Vets Club building at 305 North Cleveland Ave. Loveland. Meals can also be delivered to those unable to leave their homes. The contact number for coordinating that is 970-663-2374.

    Salvation Army:  Angel Tree - Christmas Toys

    How: Visit The Salvation Army of Loveland, register, receive your gifts the same day.

    When: December 9 – 24, Monday – Friday, 11am – 5pm.

    Where: The Salvation Army, located 840 N. Lincoln Ave. in Loveland

    Requirements: Residence in Loveland / Berthoud, Proof that family has children age 0 – 17.

    Families can receive gifts only if they have not signed up with other agencies. Call 970-699-8380 with questions.

    Santa Cops:

    Loveland Police Department Santa Cops provide toys during the holiday season to children in need who reside in Larimer County. Each year police officers deliver gifts to participants. Applications to participate in the program can be turned in to the Loveland Police Department at: 810 E. 10th St. Loveland, CO 80537 - 970-632-1444 (Santa Cops Hotline):

    *If any of these families do not have a permanent residence or are considered unaccompanied youth, make sure you tell them to state that they were sent from the school district, volunteers taking the applications verify with a Santa Cops board member and they will have no issues signing up. 

    **Guardians just need SOMETHING to tell them that an adult has custody of the child. This can be medical cards, school records, social security cards, birth certificates, etc.

     In the case of unaccompanied youth if you are able to provide a letter from the school, they will accept that as the “guardianship” portion of it.

    HOLIDAY FOOD BASKET - HOUSE OF NEIGHBORLY SERVICE LOVELAND/BERTHOUD Provides a holiday food basket with unprepared items for low income families and seniors residing in the Thompson R2J School District.     Adopt- A –Family

    The online form referral form opens October 1, 2019 and closes November 22, 2019. 

    Nominate a Family:

    2. Fill out the Referral Form. Fields with a red star must be filled out before the form can be submitted. 
    3. The Referral PIN is a unique identifier. If you need a PIN, please contact Stephanie Russell
    4. After submitting the form, you and the family referred will receive a confirmation e-mail
    5. The confirmation e-mail will provide the location and date for the family to finish their sign up, this will include completing child and gift request information.

    Adopt-A-Family is a program of SERVE 6.8. The families you refer will be invited, upon registration completion, to the Loveland Christmas Family Festival. The Festival is hosted by a collection of local churches and is a night of family fun where families pick up gifts.

    The Loveland sign up nights are listed below.  A family will need to attend a sign-up night. It only takes 15-20 minutes and they are welcome to bring their children. Families can also show up and sign up without a referral during one of the following nights.

    Northern Colorado Toy Shop

    At our 4th Annual Dolls for Daughters® and Toys for Boys® Toy Shop in Fort Collins, we will provide assistance to 500 children ages birth to 18 on December 7, 2019. We plan to provide each child with a new toy, new small toy, toothbrush/toothpaste kit, wooden toy car and lip gloss. We encourage you to bring a large, black lawn bag to take your toys home in or something else that can help you transport your toys from our venue to your vehicle.

    The event is first come, first served. A completed survey will be required to enter the toy shop and will be given out the day of the event. A birth certificate from anywhere is REQUIRED along with a picture ID for the parent receiving services.
