    • MVHS Announcements for February 20, 2019

       

      • Seniors , The senior slide show will air before and after the graduation ceremony. If you or your parents would like to submit a baby photo please email to MVHSbabyphoto@gmail.com. Don't forget to add your first and last name to the email subject line. We will collect photos until the end of the day Wednesday, April 24th. Please see Ms. Barton in Indian Peaks with questions.
      • Seniors Interested in the Ascent Concurrent Enrollment Program - There will be an informational meeting on Monday February 25th from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Boardroom at the District office. Please plan to attend to get application for the Ascent Program and the enrollment process. See Ms Ramos in the Never Summer Center with questions.
      • Seniors - Please bring copies of all scholarship documentation you have received, accepted and declined,  to your counselor or Ms. Barton in Indian Peaks Center.

      • Latinos Unified in Community, or LUC club, meets every Thursday at lunch in D221. In the fall, we traveled to Pueblo to see the borderlands and Ludlow exhibits at the museum. Next week, we’re going to the future teacher conference at UNC. During club meetings, we’re writing letters of support and friendship to children detained at the US Mexico border—anyone can write a letter or come join us on Thursdays. See Ms. Sirio, Ms. Medina, or Ms. Boyles for more information.
      • Just a reminder to students that the south parking lot is a staff parking lot. Students should not be parking in that area.
      • Students just a reminder...Quarter grades are coming up. These are the grades that eligibility for activities will be based on.
      • Boys State Basketball 1st round today Vs. Discovery Canyon at Mountain View at 6:30. Admission price for students is $6.00. Student activity passes cannot be used for this game.

      • Congratulations to Paul Westerfield!  Paul competed in the Longs Peak Regional Science Fair in Greeley yesterday.  He received an Honorable Mention award in his category of Earth & Planetary Science.  Paul also received a 2nd place award from the Colorado Soil and Water Conservation Society.  His prize included $20 cash. There are two separate applications, each offering separate, various scholarships (ranging from $500-$5,000), due in the beginning of March, no exceptions. See your counselor or inquire in Indian Peaks for more information.
      • It's time to sign up for spring sports!  Turn in your completed athletic packet into the Athletic Office in Never Summer Monday, February 4th through Friday, February 15th.  DO NOT GIVE THE PACKET OR PAYMENT TO THE COACH. Athletic packets are available on the Mountain View website or in the Athletic Office.
      • Our Thespian troupe is selling singing candy-grams for Valentine's Day at lunch and after school.  $2 for a fun-dip, candy bar, note, and song. Send them to your friends, send them to your loves, heck! send them to yourself!
      • ATTENTION GIRLS GOLF
        There will be a Girls Golf meeting in the Cafeteria on Wednesday, February 13th after school.

      • Art Club is talking trash!  We will be prepping, designing, and painting some additional garbage cans for the campus during February.  Besides the fun and the Lion PRIDE, community service hours are also possible for this activity! Stop in to Room D-140 on Mondays from 4:00 until 5:00.

      • Student of the Month: If you see freshman Gloria Lee, please congratulate her on becoming this month’s Student of the Month. Gloria is an excellent student and an athlete who plays volleyball and other various sports. Her teachers describe her as “Someone who strives for excellence, makes others feel good, and is fun to be around.” Congrats Gloria!

      • Come ask questions, meet cool people, and find out more about the United Nations.  Friday from 4:30-5:30 in the cafeteria….come get edumacated
