Hello, I’m Michael Waido, and I was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have 2 amazingly fun and beautiful daughters (Lily and Iris) and I am married to my lovely wife Sarah. This is my 11th year in education and I will be jumping into a new and exciting role of teaching technology and innovation here at High Plains. Being a founding member of this school, it has been a really amazing experience to be a part of the growth and the commitment to building a community that continues to move forward. 

I am a musician and enjoy jamming with friends and playing shows. When I am not teaching, I usually travel with my family. We have made amazing trips to the Caribbean often and traveled throughout the states. (I have been to 47 of the 50 states) Although I love to travel, I enjoy all that Colorado has to offer. I love to hike, bike, and ski (snow and water). I have a garden, I play all kinds of sports and watch my favorite local teams. I especially love the Colorado States Rams, Broncos, Avalanche, Rockies, and Eagles. I am also a major Star Wars nerd... the force is strong in this one.

My goal going into this year is to continue to grow as an educator and to have all my students progress and reach their highest potential. I value solid relationships and it is my honor to work with this staff and the community with a focus on teaching the whole child and lifelong learners. I look forward to a wonderful school year and the opportunity to work with your student!
