  • Winter Reading Log Challenge - Dec. 22, 2018 - Jan. 6, 2019 - Forms Due Jan. 7th

    While relaxing, spending time with family and friends, and playing, the High Plains Student Ambassadors are challenging you to read! Every K-5 student at HPS will receive a Challenge Reading Log to complete over Winter Break. Complete the challenge and return the log to your homeroom teacher on January 7th. Every student who completes the challenge will get to participate in a Hot Chocolate Bar one day during lunch! If every student K-5 reads for 20 minutes we will have read for 119,360 minutes over two weeks! In addition to the personal goal, if HPS students reach or exceed the goal of reading for 100,000 minutes, we will host a PJ Day with an hour long read in!

  • Parenting the Love & Logic Way Class Offered

    What is Love and Logic? It is a way of working with children that puts parents back in control, teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences. The program especially helps parents enjoy working with their children through easy-to-use techniques. The Love and Logic approach helps children develop and grow in a healthy way, provides them with confidence and dignity, and teaches them how to become more responsible.

  • Late Start Wednesdays

    On this day, school will not begin until 9:20am and will dismiss at the usual time, 3:35pm. In the morning, school buses will run approximately 1 hour later than their usual time. Students should not be on school grounds until 9:00am, as there will be no supervision prior to that time. Breakfast will be available for students from 9:00am - 9:15am.
