Welcome to Laurene Edmondson Elementary School

Our mission is simple. We strive to maximize all student outcomes. To do this, we are a responsive community that engages learners through critical thinking, collaboration, inquiry and problem solving to empower students to be innovative world citizens.

History

Laurene Edmondson Elementary opened its doors to students in 1979. The building was named for Ms. Laurene Edmondson, who was a beloved music teacher in Loveland schools from 1940-1975. Currently, Laurene Edmondson has a student population of approximately 226 students in grades K-5. There is also an Early Childhood Center on our 10-acre campus. For specific information and a map of attendance boundaries, consult the Thompson School District website at tsd.org.

Laurene Edmondson is staffed with 25 certified members on the teaching staff, 14 classified/support staff and one Reading Corps tutor. In addition to core academic subjects, students have the benefit of weekly art, music, physical education, library and computer/technology classes. Special services available to students include: special education, literacy support, speech language therapy, gifted and talented classes, occupational therapy, and counseling.
