Coyote Ridge Elementary School opened in the fall of 2008 with a charge from the Board of Education to become an authorized IB World School. In the spring of 2011, Coyote Ridge became a candidate IB World School. During the candidacy period, the staff worked with an IB consultant to create our Programme of Inquiry (POI) and develop units of inquiry. In the fall of 2012, Coyote Ridge applied for authorization. The application was accepted and IB conducted a site visit in the spring of 2013. During the visit, the authorization team interviewed every team of teachers and observed each classroom. The team also met with the superintendent, parents, and students. In June of 2013, IB granted Coyote Ridge official IB World School status. An IB World School is evaluated every 3-5 years. We continue to refine the implementation of IB at our school. During the 2016-2017 school year, the staff will complete a self-study of our IB practices and implementation. In the fall of 2017, IB will send a team of visitors to our school to check on our progress and provide feedback.
