September 8, 2014
This meeting featured a presentation on the district's Expelled and At-Risk Student Services program, as well as information on the district's master planning process.

October 13, 2014
Our October meeting featured Carmen Williams, TSD Director of Assessment and Professional Development, who offered up a presentation about the various forms of student assessment that are administered in the district.  See below for the PowerPoint presentation and various handouts provided at the meeting.

November 10, 2014
The November team meeting featured TSD safety and security manager Rick Frei.  Mr. Frei guided the group through a presentation of the district's safety and security protocols.  Attendees also learned more about school security from the district's School Resource Officer (SRO) team.

December 8, 2014
The December meeting was focused almost exclusively on the Common Core State Standards, including an overview of what they are and how they have been implemented within the district.  The Learning Services department also provided some preliminary information regarding the district's new online registration system, which is scheduled to debut this upcoming school year.

January 12, 2015
The main topics of discussion at the January meeting centered around Standards-Based Scoring (SBS) and the district's new on-line registration system, which is slated to debut this upcoming school year.  The Learning Services team presented information and answered questions about SBS practices, after which the group was presented with an opportunity to test-drive the new registration process.  The input that the team received from the group was very valuable; thank you for helping to make the product the strongest it can be!

February 9, 2015
Bill Reed Middle School assistant principal Sandy Heiser and BRMS media center director Liz Damosso led a discussion regarding the world of social media and what all parents need to know and understand.

TSD chief academic officer Dr. Margaret Crespo presented information and led a discussion regarding the 2015 PARCC assessments, which officially began in the district on that day.

TSD chief operations officer Dr. Dan Maas provided an update and facilitated a discussion regarding the work of the 2014-2015 Master Plan Committee, including a preview of the Facility Performance Scorecards that have been created for each school.

May 11, 2015
As this was the final meeting of the group before the end of the school year, the theme of  the meeting focused on "review and reflection."  Attendees reviewed the accomplishments of the group from the past year and began laying the groundwork for the upcoming meetings in the 2015-2016 year.  In addition, the Learning Services department provided an update on the state assessment process that was administered in the district.  The team also discussed the new academic scorecards that are being created for each school.  Similar in structure to the Facility Performance Scorecards that were recently sent to families, these documents will provide a terrific insight into student achievement, student growth and other related items for each building.

September 14, 2015
After a terrific summer break, the Stakeholders group convened for the first time in the 2015-2016 school year.  At the meeting, TSD's Learning Services department held a discussion regarding a newly proposed student and family communication plan.  The group also brainstormed potential topics for upcoming Stakeholders meetings.
 
October 12, 2015
In our October meeting, we welcomed Rick Frei, who serves TSD as Safety and Security Manager.  Rick led a discussion with the group about school security and also provided a demonstration of the new single-point entry system that is being installed at many sites throughout the district.
 
November 9, 2015
Standards Based Grading and Reporting was the focus of the November Stakeholders meeting.  The TSD Learning Services department presented details and led a discussion on how the system works and how it benefits students and families.  To view a video presentation of the session, please CLICK HERE.
 
December 14, 2015
In this meeting, our Learning Services department provided an overview of Schoology, Naviance, Infinite Campus and other support programs that the district utilizes on an everyday basis.  The goal of the session was to provide information on what the services are used for and how they impact the educational experience for students and parents.  Following the presentation, we also had a "mid-year" discussion to touch base on what we have covered this academic year and to do some agenda setting for the first part of 2016.

January 11, 2016
For our January session, we met as a group at the construction site of the new High Plains School.  We took a tour of the new school, which is slated to open in August of this year, and also held a discussion on the construction process and how the school and its programming will impact the district.

February 8, 2016
The February session of the Stakeholders group featured a presentation on the district's "Thompson 2 Life" program, a district task force comprised of parents, community members, teachers and administrators that meet monthly to research, discuss and make decisions regarding ways to provide quality foundations and personalized learning.  We were joined by Mountain View High School principal Kim Young and Conrad Ball Middle School principal Tiffany Miller, who spoke about all of the great work that the task force has been working on, including the variety of programs that are available to assist all students in becoming career and community-ready. March 14, 2016
The March meeting of the Stakeholders group featured a presentation by the district's Master Plan Committee regarding the proposed "Thompson Reinvented" plan.  To learn more about the plan and download a copy for review, please CLICK HERE.
 
April 11, 2016 and May 9, 2016

September 12, 2016
Dr. Margaret Crespo provided the group with a detailed look at the 2016 Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies results, as well as more information on the district's "Dashboard" technology, which provides in-depth data on graduation rates, dropout rates, enrollment and awards. Superintendent Dr. Stan Scheer spoke to the group about how the public education system has evolved throughout the decades.  In addition, TSD executive director of student support services Charlie Carter provided a presentation on the district's special education program and other efforts that help ensure the success of all students.
 
November 14, 2016

December 12, 2016
Our December meeting focused on school safety and security.  District safety and security director Jesse Lunsford spoke to our group about security processes that are in place in our buildings, as well as the current efforts underway to enhance those processes even further.  In addition, a member of our law enforcement School Resource Officer team spoke to us about their focus on safety within the schools and the special relationships that they build with students and the school community.
 
January 9, 2017
The topic of our session was Standards-Based Grading.  TSD Chief Academic Officer Dr. Margaret Crespo and her team were on-hand to discuss how the grading system works, why it is important as the district moves forward and what students and staff members are learning from the current pilot program that is underway in the district.
 
February 13, 2017
In our February session, TSD's Chastity Stringer presented information to the group regarding the new student data privacy laws that have come into effect recently, including details on the steps the district has taken to ensure compliance.  Following that discussion, Conrad Ball Middle School teacher Kendra Vair presented a sample lesson plan and information to the group related to Standards Based Instruction (SBI).  The information provided an in-depth look into how SBI benefits all students in a unique way.  To view the student data privacy slides that were presented, please CLICK HERE.  To view the SBI presentation slides, please CLICK HERE.

March 6, 2017
Our March session featured Superintendent Stan Scheer, who spoke at length and hosted a discussion about the district's Master Planning process and the option of school closure, which is one of many concepts being considered by the Board of Education.
