Jeff Berg was appointed to the Thompson School District Board of Education in August 2012. Mr. Berg is a local small business owner who works as an independent financial advisor. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the Lutheran Bible Institute of Seattle (now Trinity Lutheran College). Berg has lived in Loveland for 12 years and has two children attending district schools. In addition to serving on the Van Buren Elementary School Accountability Committee, he has pastored teenagers for nearly 20 years and sits on the board of directors for The Children's Foundation Inc., a nonprofit that raises funds and sets policy for an orphanage in Mexico. His guiding philosophy in serving on the Board is that disciplined thinking combined with disciplined action can bring outstanding results.

Janice Marchman was appointed to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District B seat in September 2010 and elected in November 2011. Mrs. Marchman's career has been in the engineering field where she served for six years as an engineer prior to starting a family. She holds a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering Degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and earned teaching credentials in the state of California. Mrs. Marchman has lived in the Thompson School District since 2004 and is managing a busy family life with two children attending district schools. She currently serves in a variety of volunteer positions. As a Board member she hopes to bring a parent perspective to decision-making, streamline district and school processes, and improve student achievement for all students in the district.

Denise Montagu was elected to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District C seat in November 2011. Ms. Montagu, a Thompson School District graduate, began her career as a counselor in a residential treatment center for seven years prior to starting a family. She holds a Bachelor's Degree and currently works in the marketing field. Ms. Montagu has served on several boards and continues to hold a variety of volunteer positions. She has three children currently attending district schools. Ms. Montagu's goal as a Board of Education member is for the Thompson School District to provide a quality education to its students, thereby affording them a multitude of lifelong opportunities.

Leslie Young was appointed to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District D seat in June 2009, elected in November 2009, and reelected in November 2011. Ms. Young has served with distinction for over 25 years in the field of law enforcement in Loveland. She was a school resource officer for five years and is currently a lieutenant with the Loveland Police Department. Ms. Young earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Northern Arizona. She began her career teaching eighth grade reading on the Arizona Navajo Reservation. As a Board member her goal is to continue to make sound fiscal decisions, including a clear and understandable budget process. Ms Young believes student achievement is the ultimate test to determine success for the Thompson School District.

Sharon Olson was elected to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District E seat in November 2009. Ms. Olson began her 30 plus year career in public education in her home state, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in social studies education from the University of Minnesota. She then moved to Colorado where she taught English, world history and psychology at Loveland High School, along with serving as the student council sponsor. In addition, she served as the Thompson Education Association president and negotiator for the last 10 years of her teaching career. Ms. Olson also spent many years on the Loveland High School administration team as an assistant principal and an athletic director. Currently she is the executive director for Interfaith Hospitality Network, a shelter that houses homeless children and their families. Ms. Olson sought election to the Board of Education for several reasons including; using leadership skills she obtained while employed by the district, continuing a life of service to students and education, and her desire to be a role model for others.

Leonard Sherman was elected to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District F seat in November 2009. Mr. Sherman has spent his career involved in the field of education beginning with teaching and coaching positions in Wyoming. He also worked as an administrator in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Nebraska prior to serving in the Thompson School District as the Berthoud High School principal for 31 years. Mr. Sherman holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees, along with an Education Specialist Degree. Both of his children are graduates of the Thompson School District. He is currently retired. Mr. Sherman joined the Board of Education in order to continue providing service in the field of education to the students, staff, and community members of the Thompson School District.

Bob Kerrigan was elected to the Thompson School District Board of Education Director District G seat in November 2011. Mr. Kerrigan is a project engineer for Ball Aerospace. His career spans over 30 years in the engineering sector in the areas of manufacturing/fabrication/design, budget management, supplier management, and technical product development. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Regis University. Mr. Kerrigan has lived in Berthoud since 1984 and both of his children are graduates of the Thompson School District. As a Board member he hopes to accomplish continued student achievement while effectively and efficiently utilizing taxpayers' resources.
